Leland commenced his career working as an Outdoor Environmental Educator, having developed and delivered experiential learning activities for children. Since 2010, he has been working with young people in varied roles, providing direct care and support to children with extreme behavioural needs as a Youth Worker, and overseeing cases and teams of carers as a Senior Case Manager.
Prior to commencing with Complex Care, Leland worked as the Lead Trainer in an international not-for-profit organisation, and assisted in the contextualised development, delivery, and assessment of nationally recognised courses including Cert III in Community Services and Cert IV in Child and Family Protection. Over the course of his time as a trainer, Leland has delivered Trauma and Attachment and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Training to hundreds of residential care workers and managers.
As a Child and Family Therapist, Leland always aims to build positive relationships to help his clients build capacity and feel empowered.
