Sarah Yates

Prior to joining the Complex Care team in early 2014, Sarah worked extensively with vulnerable children, their families and carers both in Australia and abroad. Beginning her career as a full-time volunteer support worker with the Australian Red Cross, Sarah went on to complete her Bachelor of Behavioural Science and Honours degree in Psychology and developed her interest in the child protection sector working for a specialist assessment team at Surrey County Council in the United Kingdom. After returning to Australia Sarah commenced working with ACT for Kids(formerly the Abused Child Trust) in Brisbane and now enjoys supporting the highly vulnerable with Complex Care. Sarah has a passion for providing psychoeducation to parents and carers about why their child presents in the way they do after experiencing trauma and often repeated breaks in their attachment relationships. Sarah has a passion for backpacking adventures and has a dream to become fluent in speaking Spanish.
